struck gongs

tallow wicks in glass cups flicker
yellow glow stains the dusty air
moments melting feel wrapped in dripping wax
whispered chants rustling through painted chambers
dull chords of struck gongs stir the smoke filled halls
footsteps slap and slip over worn red stairways
copper bowls gleam subdued with sunset fading
water rushes through boulders and fishers nets strung deep
portents sought and secrets slumber into nights sway
moon fills the snow with potent sight
I love you in the darkness and in the everlasting night
